Community Partners – Train your Staff as Facilitators
If your organization strives to provide parent education to your local community, training one or more of your employees or members is the best way to join the NuParent movement. Training is routinely held in Los Angeles and at various locations around the country, but we will come to your site for training if that is better for your organization.
On-site training for groups of 10 or more can be scheduled. Your staff members will become trained facilitators, capable of leading NuParent parent sessions in your community. Each facilitator will have access to the full NuParent curriculum from perinatal through preschool as well as the Parent Guide (in both English and Spanish) to give to the parents as they participate.
What’s more, your organization has the freedom to customize the program to your parent group, no matter what circumstances you may encounter. Add specific information about your school’s program, change the activities to match cultural norms, beef up the science for a medical crowd—the NuParent curriculum allows you to meet the needs of your audience, no matter who they are.
Independent Partners – Train to be a NuParent Facilitator
If helping parents be the Best Parent They Can Be for Their Children Most of the Time is your goal, become a NuParent Facilitator. Facilitator training is offered routinely in Los Angeles and around the country and is completed in 3 days. Once you complete the training, begin offering NuParent sessions in your community.
Facilitators are the backbone of NuParent because you are in the trenches with the parents every day. Teachers, social workers, medical professionals and others are in a position to impact the lives of parents and children and to provide quality parent education on a recurring basis. As a NuParent facilitator, you will have the full curriculum from perinatal through preschool at your fingertips.
Not only that, but you have the freedom to customize the program to your parent group, no matter what circumstances you may encounter. Add specific information about your school’s program, change the activities to match cultural norms, beef up the science for a medical crowd—the NuParent curriculum allows you to meet the needs of your audience, no matter who they are.
NuParent also has community partners who do not implement the NuParent curriculum, such as The March of Dimes, First Five, Latino Family Media, etc., but support the program by referral, advertising or funding suggestions. Some of NuParent’s community partners do both – promote NuParent as well as develop the program. If you are interested in helping us promote NuParent or have fund raising ideas to get the training out to more families, please CONTACT US!
There is a simple partnership agreement between NuParent and an organization, agency or individual. Our basic requirement is that a Family Questionnaire form be completed for each family that attends a NuParent training and that a copy of all questionnaires be forwarded to the NuParent office. This allows us to document how many families we are reaching. (Click here for Partnership Agreement)
